About Us
Anura Africa is the brainchild of Dr Jeanne Tarrant and Keir Lynch. Dr Tarrant is an internationally awarded amphibian conservation biologist with nearly two decades of experience in the Amphibian Conservation sphere. Keir Lynch is an ecologist who specialises in Biodiversity Conservation and Management services, with more than a decade’s experience in Protected Area Expansion. Chris Martens joined our team as Non-Executive Director in an Advisory role, bringing his experience of landscape-scale conservation onboard to strengthen our mission of protecting amphibians and their habitats across Africa.

Jeanne Tarrant, affectionately known as the "Frog Lady," has been a dedicated champion of amphibian conservation in South Africa for over 18 years.Her area of expertise includes Programme Development, Project Management,
Outreach and Networking. She is a skilled fund-raiser, critical for supporting our conservation efforts.
Keir Lynch
Keir's journey began in private nature conservation, focusing on rewilding, restoration ecology and monitoring of rare species. His area of expertise includes Ecological Sciences, Conservation Management and Protected Area Expansion. Keir is highly skilled at communication with scientists and private citizens alike.
Chris Martens
With 40 years in conservation, Chris managed protected areas and led CapeNature’s stewardship program. Now the MD of the Fynbos Trust, he supports conservation efforts across Africa through collaboration, grants, and mentorship. His lifelong connection with nature drives his commitment to biodiversity conservation.
